    Church Site - Salient

    Posted 3 years 9 months ago
    • This is my first real effort at putting up a site. I have to give kudos to DanG and MrT for the help they have given me for this effort and others in the past.

      Site: www.gabcpc.com
      Template: Salient
      Extensions: jEvents
      PreachIt
      Perfect Ajax Popup Contact Form
      Perfect Everything/Everyway

      I have several things to add, such as background images to the pages and etc., so your
      feedback is welcome, as I am interested in creating a user-friendly site.

      Thanks,
      James

    • Nice job. That is so fresh and modern looking compared to all the old Churchsite 1.0's out there ;)
      Since I'm only a fixer in the other forums - posts here let me release the designer side of me so all the rest has to do with my colour preferences and has no significance other than that.

      I like my menu dropdowns somewhat subdued so readers can clearly see the Link text:
      #g-navigation .g-main-nav .g-dropdown {
          background: #DF8805;
      }
      #g-navigation .g-main-nav .g-sublevel > li:hover > .g-menu-item-container, #g-navigation .g-main-nav .g-sublevel > li.active > .g-menu-item-container {
          background: #C07404;
      }

      Also I would have made the Facebook icon stand out a tad more:
      #g-navigation .g-social a {
          color: white;
          background: #FF9900;
          border-radius: 4px;
      }
      #g-navigation .g-social a:hover {
          color: #212121;
          background: #F8E8D0;
          border-radius: 4px;
      }

      Again just my 2ยข
