    SOLVED Grunge: RokNavMenu Exporter not working for me

    Posted 9 years 2 months ago
    • Hi guys - thanks for the work that you all do.

      I am working on a new site alastor.net.au (J! 1.5.20) and trying my hand at a phpBB3 install (3.0.4-PL1). I'm using the grunge template on both sides.

      I've followed the RokNavMenu Exporter tutorial very closely, but I can't get the menu to show on phpBB3 side of the website: alastor.net.au/forum . But I'm sure I've missed something sensible, so please be gentle with me.

      On the phpBB3 side of things:
      Joomla menu path: ../
      Guest menu filename: guest_joomla_menu.inc
      Registered menu filename: reg_joomla_menu.inc

      All cut and pasted from the RT plugin. See the attached picture.

    • I found this post while searching in google.
      Are you using splitmenu? Splitmenu is not supported in the menu exporter.
      Hopefully this will help someone else searching for an answer.

    • Hey Joe,

      Looks like I am having the same problem, building my test site to migrate forum after I know how everything is working but I can not get menu exporter to show my fusion based menu! :cry:

    • Hi,
      Sorry - gave up on BB3. I was experimenting, and didn't have enough time to get to the bottom of the problem. Will try again soon... :)

    • I wouldn't say that this thread is solved just because someone gave up on the issue....

      I'm having the same issue here in 2014...I'm however using the Diametric Template with Joomla 3.3 and phpBB3 with the Diametric template...and sadly my menus aren't carrying over into the Diametric phpBB forum navigation bar. Upon investigating, I've learned that my joomla_menu_header.inc file is empty (which can't be good/right?), however my guest_joomla_menu.inc and reg_joomla_menu.inc files seem to be beautifully populating my menu content. I've checked the file permissions via FTP and all 3 of these aforementioned files are set to 664 so I dont think theres any kind of file writing issue going on that would be permission related. Can anyone please advise on why my joomla_menu_header.inc file is empty? Can I manually input code into it to get it working, or can someone explain why this file would remain empty? Thanks in advance for any input!

      (Oh and yes my templates are "active"/default in both Joomla and phpBB3, RokBB3 is installed and enabled as is RokNavMenu_Exporter...RokNavMenu is installed and enabled however I'm not sure if I'm supposed to set my Main (Home) Menu into a RokNavMenu module or if the gantry framework automagically handles this?) Once more my guest_joomla_menu.inc and reg_joomla_menu.inc files are populating with my menu structure so thats probably a moot point.

      I've thoroughly followed these instructions: www.rockettheme.com/docs/phpbb/start/sty...ministrative-modules
      www.rockettheme.com/docs/phpbb/modules/roknavmenu.md
      www.rockettheme.com/docs/joomla/extensio...NDEX.md#key-features

    • Do any of your menu items require you to be logged in?

    • Hi Joe! Thank you very much for your prompt reply. Youre welcome to check out the site, please keep in mind its barely completed so it looks like crap, still trying to get all the framework working properly. Anyways, there are certain pages/'articles' on my site that are only visible to logged in/registered users, however here are no menu items that are hidden or set to registered-only. Part of the message is hidden for the guests. Please log in or register to see it. Is the joomla_menu_header.inc file supposed to populate? Or is the file just supposed to be empty as a spaceholder or something? Thnx again, looking forward to your input.

      Here is the code within the file reg_joomla_menu.inc (the guest_joomla_menu.inc file has the same data) and the joomla_menu_header.inc file is empty:

      <div class="rt-menu-mobile">
      <select data-rt-menu-mobile>
      <option value="/" selected="selected"> Home</option>

      <option value="/free-instruct-videos"> FREE Lessons</option>

      <option value="/lessons"> Lessons</option>

      <option value="/lessons/personal-guitar-lessons">&mdash; Personal Guitar Lessons</option>

      <option value="/lessons/skype-guitar-lessons">&mdash; Skype Guitar Lessons</option>

      <option value="/lessons/online-guitar-courses">&mdash; Online Guitar Courses</option>

      <option value="/lessons/lessons-for-all-skill-levels">&mdash; Lessons for all Skill Levels</option>

      ....and so forth
